Hi – I’m Hanna Bech Mathieson! I have been teaching for over ten years, and playing music for more like twenty years. I have a knack for seeing a student’s strengths and using them to work on their weaknesses. I work with the whole person and their instrument – because that’s what music is. Communication. I will not only help you or your child reach their goals – I will help you do it artfully with a sense of confidence that only comes from a job well done.
Neat somewhat-related facts:
- Hanna co-runs a non-audition choir called Hamilton Sings!
- Hanna studied Music at McMaster University, Education at University of Toronto/OISE, and has special education I qualifications.
- Hanna worked with the Canadian Opera Company’s After School Opera Program
- Hanna’s great-great-grandfather taught in a one room school house!
- Hanna just recorded her first EP “Naked Bones”, and she performs on voice, piano, baritone ukelele, and trumpet.
- Hanna continually studies: new pedagogy (vocal function; music & movement; how the brain learns); performance (currently voice and guitar); community development; health and injury prevention, and many other topics…
Please send me a message if you’re interested. I would love to hear from you!
